KLHK Targets 688 Thousand Hectares of Forest and Rehabilitated Land in 2019

This was stated by the Minister of Environment and Forestry, Siti Nurbaya, in her remarks read by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), Bambang Hendroyono, when opening the 2019 Foresters Day Forestry Tree Planting activity at the Ministry of Education and Training Center Environment and Forestry (KLHK) in Rumpin, Bogor, Saturday (03/16/2019).

In April 2018, President Joko Widodo stressed that large-scale forest reclamation and rehabilitation will be carried out starting in 2019.

“There must be a national planting movement throughout Indonesia,” said Minister Siti.

In 2019, the target of greater forest and land rehabilitation (RHL) is around 688 thousand hectares.

“Along with the decline in the area of critical land which is around 14.01 million hectares in 2018.”

“I reminded that 2019 can be filled with hard work, with a target of greater forest and land rehabilitation (RHL), which is around 688 thousand hectares consisting of 207 thousand hectares from the state budget source and 482 thousand hectares of Forest Land Use License (IPPKH), “He stressed.

The 2019 Foresters Day Forest Tree Planting Activity on the Ministry of Environment and Forestry’s Education and Training Center (KLHK) in Rumpin is one of a series of events held by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to commemorate Forest Service Day commemorated on March 16 each year.
